Hallstatt tour

The historic town of Hallstatt with its 7.000 years history of salt mining is definitely the highlight of this tour, but not the only attraction.

On the way out I want to take you on a geological excursion into a deep gorge, a photo stop at the crystalline Gosausee flanked by steep cliffs with the Dachstein glacier as a backdrop on to Hallstatt.

We then ascend by funicular to the high mountain valley to the salt mines. After visiting the mines we descend to the village, visit the church, the famous cemetery with its scull house and the quaint old streets.

After lunch onward journey via St Wolfgang with its famous 15th century gothic Altar, via St Gilgen and Fuschl back to Salzburg.
