View on the Königssee in Berchtesgarden
Eagles nest
Perched on the spur of a mountain the Eagles Nest offers stunning views as well as fascinating history. Built as a 50th Birthday present to Adolf Hitler the whole project is an amazing feat of engineering. From the carpark on the Obersalzberg a bus brings us up a spectacular mountain road with hairpin bends and tunnels blasted from the rock, then an elevator brings us out in the centre of the Eagles Nest.
Optional: visit the documentation centre to learn more about the gruelling history and visit the underground bunkers.
Duration 5 hours
Entrance fees and transport not included
